Penny qualified in massage therapy in 2010 at Cheltenham, where she lived for 3 years after a 2 year stint in London. She has worked in an array of sectors including, finance, sales and retail ,but to name a few! Originally born in Burnham Market, she studied a business degree in Colchester and has spent 10 years going back to college in search of a career she felt passionate enough about to make it her own. Through a combination of personal and business experiences she now finds herself doing a job that she truly loves. She is continually looking at new avenues to develop in, using every opportunity to do this abroad; she spent a month in Thailand learning Thai massage.
Massage is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle, along with, but not exclusive to exercise and diet. The way you look after your physical and mental self reflects in the way that you feel, look and respond to your environment. Massage allows your body and mind to relax, recuperate and improve range of motion as well as help reduce pain and discomfort in certain circumstances.
Penny aims to increase the range of treatments and information she provides her clients while increasing the number of health care professionals and therapists that she refers and works alongside to create a seemless holistic service that covers a wide range of her client's needs.
A Holistic approach is all encompassing, looking at the whole rather than individual components. Massage works on the body and emotions, an ever increasing necessity in an ever-stressful environment. This approach will be compounded with the increasing range of treatments and products available to her clients to help their body, mind and spirit.
What is Remedial?
Remedial, Sports or Clinical Massage are pretty much one of the same. The qualification is level 4 and in accordance with insurance, within restrictions, allows the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal dysfunction and injuries; unlike level 3 massage treatments which are deemed for relaxation purposes only. Sports massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. Sports massage has four basic forms: pre-event massage, post-event massage, maintenance massage and developmental massage. These treatments can be transferred to a number of non sport injuries and dysfunctions.
